Dear Sato Sensei,
Hello, sensei! It has been a very long time, but I still think of the dojo often, and of the years of classes with you. I have many fond memories of those days. It seems like yesterday, but it's almost forty years ago. I'm no longer able to practice karate (a severed biceps tendon in my right arm), but I still remember the Five Rules, and I try to live by them.
I no longer live in Canada. I retired several years ago, and moved to the French Riviera. It's wonderful.
If you get this message, perhaps you will send me an email -- it would be great to hear from you.

Hello Sato Sensei.
I would just like to tell you that i agree totally when you said in the interview that the traditional Karate is shrinking. I'm 38 years old and i think that only now i started to understand the real meaning of Karate. Untill now everything was only about competitions and tournaments. Fortunatelly our Master Hidetoshi Nakahashi, who gives a seminar every summer in our town, has started to alert us all that we should never forget the traditional Karate and that we should pratice it allways.
I feel that here in Europe almost everybody that talks about Karate thinks about competition and not about the real Karate-Do.
I know that you will be comming to our beautiful country in May, but unfortunatelly i will not be able to assist your seminar.
I send you greatings from our dojo convinced that your seminar will be a great success.

Dear Sato Sensei
I spend beautiful time during my visit to Canada. The interesting workshops with Soke Suzuki and Shihan Demura gave me some new comprehensions about the Karate-Do. On different trainings in dojo's located in Vancouver, Pemberton and Vancouver-Island, I met lot's of heartily members an sensei's and it was just great, to feel this affiliation from the whole Shito Ryu Seikokai - family.
Thanks a lot for this kindness, where you all gave to me!

Just a cheery hello from freezing cold Toronto. Sensai is coming here this week for the nationals and I hope to re establish a Toronto Dojo. I just wanted to thank Sensai and the organization for many years of dedication to the welfare of all the students. Having practised on my own for the last 10 years since I took my Nidan, I can only say that Shito Ryu kata is the gift that keeps on giving. Every day I find new depth to our kata and hope to continue to grow in karate over the years.
